Komunidad Founder Felix Ayque Speaks at SAASCon 2023

Komunidad was among the SaaS (software-as-a-service) companies that participated in this year’s SaaSCon held on March 28, 2023 at the Marriott Grand Ballroom.

CEO and founder Felix Ayque shared the opportunities and challenges of starting Komunidad from the ground up, and offering solutions to strengthen communities against the impacts of climate change.

The conference recognized that, despite the Philippines’ large population and expanding GDP, Manila is not an ideal location to launch start-ups.

Ayque, along with Jennifer Zhang, Co-Founder and CEO of WIZ.AI, which offers smart voice AI, and Christopher Withers, founder and CEO of klikit—a software company helping and maximizing the exposure of restaurants in Asia—discussed the opportunities and challenges of growing a tech business in the Philippines and debunked the common misconceptions about the market.

Championing its #EarlyWarningsForAll movement, Komunidad taps data intelligence on climate change and weather systems to offer solutions to communities and industries wanting to become more climate resilient. It counts several local government units, companies and schools in the Philippines, as well as a province in India, among its clients.

Komunidad also continues to expand its reach to more communities and industries through partnerships and has launched platforms through events to continue the discourse on climate resilience and innovative solutions.

SaaSCon gathered hundreds of business leaders, innovators and tech founders as they discussed the current state of Business-to-Business SaaS in the Philippines, which presents both opportunities and challenges. It also opened discussions about the state of SaaS and AI in 2023, digital innovation and transformation, and how domestic businesses are keeping up with these advancements.

The event also featured the winners of the recent Impact 23 Accelerator Program of Sprout Solutions and Kaya Founders, who are also billed as presenters at SaaSCon PH. Sponsors of the event included AWS, Brankas, Beeline, and KMC, while Asia CEO Events, Wavemaker Partners, Maya Business, PLDT, Rise, Konsulta MD, The Business Manual, and Rappler were named as partners. The event was also supported by Bloomberg.
